Warriors cheered very loud at Homecoming Spirit Assembly

Parents, Students, Alumni, and Community Members,

Extraordinary opportunities await us as we enter the 2015-16 school year. With our students, our faculty, our staff, and our community we have magical things to create, new paths to lay, and hope to nurture. At Pueblo, we're charting new territory, advancing new thresholds of intellectualism, and seizing opportunities to excite, motivate and inspire our students to reach the highest levels of academic, athletic and artistic achievement.

Pueblo’s legacy and its tradition of excellence are in great hands with our current faculty and staff. The 2014-15 school year was another example of our incredible legacy and tradition:

  • Scholarships and financial aid awarded the Warrior Class of 2014 - $10.2 million
    (2nd most in TUSD)
  • Juliana Merino – GATES Millennium Scholar
  • Dr. Andrew Lettes – State of Arizona’s Innovative Teacher of the Year
  • Jesus Orduño – TUSD Secondary Teacher of the Year
  • Onelio “Kobe” Madrid Calderon – Crystal Apple Student of the Year
  • Bianca Molina – Southern Arizona Kiwanis Student of the Year
  • Six of our students participated in the Arizona Ivy League Project
  • Two Coaches of the Year: Izzy Galindo & Brandon Sanders
  • Recipients of two grants for our Cyber Café & Community Garden
  • Our new mural on the face of our east wing (12th Ave)
  • Our new floors in both the Lever and the South gyms
  • Eighteen All-City Athletes
  • Mariachi Aztlan – Student Showcase Winners – TIMC & Showcased in San Francisco Unified School District as the exemplar of artistic excellence

"We're off to great places! Today is our day! Our mountain is waiting, so let's get on our way!"-(Dr. Seuss, modified)

Every day is today, and every day is our day! Our mountain is our quest to educate, and enhance not only the lives of students, but also our own lives. In order to move our mountain we will need to bond together in a collective demonstration of strength, perseverance, and a massive belief in our students, our Pueblo, and in ourselves.

I continue to look forward to all the new mountains we will climb, all the bridges we will build, and all the lives we will transform, and all the wonderful memories we will foster. Thank you!
